General Motors for many years was the largest bus manufacturer in the United States and Canada. Over 30,000 "New Look" buses were produced, making it the most popular bus ever. Several years into the production of the RTS and Classic, GMC left the bus business and sold the operation over to TMC. TMC later sold its bus production to NovaBus.
