Logo for this Transit agency
E Embarcadero:
Future service along the Embarcadero. It will use existing tracks from Fishermans Wharf area to CalTrain Depot
F Market & Wharves:
Uses PCC cars and older streetcars painted in colors of various, often long gone, transit systems. It is a rolling museum of public transportation.
J Church:
The oldest MUNI line dates from1917 serves neighborhoods east of the Twin Peaks. Church St. around 30th St. has the aura of a small town.
K Ingleside:
The first line through the Twin Peaks Tunnel stops along West Portal Ave, a commercial district seemingly untouched the desire to modernize.
L Taraval:
A very busy line that crosses the dense suburban Sunset District and ends at the San Francisco Zoo.
M Oceanview:
It is convenient to Stonestown Galleria and SFSU. Great connections to the J, K and BART at Balboa Park Station.
N Judah:
Quickly takes you to Golden Gate Park, the largest park in San Francisco. It also goes to chilly Ocean Beach, where only the bravest surfers venture. It also also serves the MUNI Metro Extension and South Beach.
T Third:
Serving Market St. Subway and 3rd St. from CalTrain to Visitacion Valley.

Cable cars:

  • C California: From the Financial District, through Chinatown, over Nob Hill, to Van Ness Ave.
  • PH Powell-Hyde: is the most scenic of the cable car lines. The views of the bay as it descends Russian Hill are breath taking.
  • PM Powell-Mason: is the most convenient to the Cable Car Museum, Fisherman's Wharf, and Pier 39.
