Santa Clarita is in a fast growing part of Los Angeles County. It is the last major suburb north of the City of Los Angeles. It is served by the fast growing Metrolink system. A lot of changes have occured since I visited Santa Clarita in '98.

Just north of the hills of the San Fernando Valley is Santa Clarita. It is surrounded on all sides by hills and is geographically separated from the rest of Los Angeles. San Clarita was originally a collection of farming communities called Valencia (as in Valencia Orange), Saugus, and Newhall. Newer suburban communities of Canyon County and Friendly Valley have also been developed.
